New Business Opportunity

Well, I am in the beginning phase of a new business endeavor. I am making nursing covers and diaper bags to sell. Caleb's mom, June, is making diaper/wipe pouches too. We have labeled our products "BubbleSprout Designs". All of our products are for sale at The Potter's Shop in downtown Waukesha, WI. So far, we are still making things to make more of a selection at the store. We will see how this goes! :) If anyone is interested in purchasing something from me, please email or leave a comment for me. These items make great baby shower gifts! I will list some pictures of the items tomorrow. Until then, it's off to bed for me...

Well, since it's been over half a year since my last posting...! Yikes! Where do I start? Well, first things first. On November 14, 2008, Clayton Donald Gordon arrived. He has been a wonderful addition to our family and is almost 7 months old now. He loves baby food (actually anything you put into his mouth), rolling around on the floor and most of all his big brother Carson. He is such a jolly baby and quite the chub! :) Next bit of info is that we bought a house in March and moved into our new place the end of March. We got a great deal and took advantage of the first-time homebuyers credit. We love it and have enjoyed making the place our own! Lastly, Carson is in potty training mode and so far it's been anything but easy!! Last week was great and this week has been terrible so far and it's only Monday! Please pray for patience!!! :) Anyway, that pretty much sums up the last 7 months or so. HOPEFULLY I will be better at keeping up on this blog thing from now on, but I'm not promising anything! :)

Well, 9 days and counting. However, the doctor said that since I was a week late with Carson, that I will likely go over with this one too...not happy news to a woman that feels like she swallowed a blimp!! Anyway, hopefully she will be wrong and he will decide to come a little early at least.

Fall is Here!

Well, I guess Fall is officially here, even though it's been in the 80's the last few days. I'm sure that it's the last few warm days of the season though. I actually am looking forward to cooler weather. I'll probably have the windows open through November! :) Since my last post, Caleb and I were able to go to NYC for a weekend getaway. We had a great time sight seeing and just relaxing. Also we went to the Oshkosh Air Show with my family. It's official: Carson LOVES planes as much as his daddy!! I have gone to MN a few times to visit with family and friends while Caleb has been out of town as well. Poor Caleb has been gone for almost 3 weeks now with the exception of the 2 days that he was able to come home for 24hrs. It's not fun to be stuck in hotels every night by yourself and eating out every meal. Anyway, we're praying that when he does come home at the end of this week, that he will be able to stay home for a while! As for the baby, he is growing(so am I) like a weed. I'm praying that he might come early, but if he doesn't arrive by his due date, my doctor said that they would induce me the next day! That was good news considering that Carson was a week late. Carson is talking up a storm and repeating everything we say!! I find myself watching how I say things a lot closer now! He is such a great little boy and we are so blessed to have him! :) Well, I will try to post some newer pictures soon, but life has been a little crazy so I'm not promising anything. :)

Well, I guess I should post and update on our summer since it's half way over! I can't believe it's almost August!! I guess I should be happy cause the sooner summer is over the sooner this baby comes out! :) Things are going to be a little nuts around here this winter since Caleb's busy time starts after Thanksgiving and goes until after the new year! I'll need lots of prayers!! Back to summer...we have been pretty busy. Carson has started sleeping in his toddler bed and doing really well with it. We went to MN for the 4th of July and had fun going to Valley Fair. Carson came down with hand, foot and mouth disease while we were up there though! Of course Caleb came down with a mild case of it and Jack, Carson's cousin, got it pretty bad too! Oh what fun! Anyway, I guess it's been going around our community here in WI. I thought summer meant having a healthy kid! Caleb has been able to take Carson out to watch him fly his radio control plane alot as well. Carson has been enjoying all the outside play time in the sand box, at the park, in the splash pool, and going for bike rides with us. We are planning on going to Oshkosh next weekend with my side of the family! I think that might be Caleb's highlight of the summer! :) I will post pictures of the fun when we get back.

It's a Boy!

Well, today we found out we are having another boy! I'm proof that you can have 2 totally different pregnancies and still have 2 boys.:o) Anyway, we are excited and Carson is looking forward to having a brother to play with.

Well, Carson loves airplanes and baseball. He went flying with Caleb and me on Father's day and he has been talking about it ever since. He even tried putting ear plugs in his ears to go flying again!!! :) He also wants to play baseball anytime he is outside. His vocab lately is "fly, airplane, up, swing, bat, hit, and baseball"! We shall see if we have another pilot in the family! I think Caleb is hoping for that! :)

Hello, I'm Back!!

Hi Everyone! Sorry about the long break. I guess it's about time for me to update everyone on our lives the past 3 months! Wow, I can't believe it's really been that long. Anyway, since the end of February, we went to MN once, Caleb started flying RC planes again(along with my brother and dad), we've been enjoying the few days of nice weather we've had, and last but not least, we found out that I am pregnant and due November 13th!!! Sorry if that has taken anyone by surprise. We were a little surprised as well, but are really excited for Carson to have a brother or sister. :o) So far I've had an easy pregnancy and am praying that it stays that way!! Well, I will add some pictures from the last few months for you to look at as well. I am planning on being a better blogger from now on. :o) Hopefully!

18 Months

Today, I took Carson in for his 18 month check up. Where has the time gone! He is so much fun at this age. The power struggle has definitely begun though! One minute he wants help and the next minute he's pushing me away! He now can say "GO" and "TWO". He tries to count to three, but all that comes out is, "Two, two, two". He is very fascinated with belly buttons as well. :o) Here are some pics I took this weekend! Gretta even managed to make it into some of them.

Children's Museum in MN

Last week Carson and I went to MN to visit family. Jess and I took the kids to the children's museum there. The boys loved every minute of it! We can't wait to go back! Milwaukee doesn't have a very good children's museum. It's for a little older kids. Anyway, the MN one has lots of fun things for kids under 3. Carson especially loved the water areas.

Today it snowed, AGAIN!!! The snow flakes were huge. Carson and I took advantage of the snowy weather and went out to play in it. He loved every minute of it and cried when it was time to go in.

Last weekend we went to MN for Jack's birthday party. He will be 2 on Saturday! Can't believe how fast they grow up. Carson always has fun playing with Jack, even though they both had coughs.

Michigan Trip

This past weekend, we traveled to Warren, MI to see Troy and Cherie. We had a great time visiting with them! They are in a great church over there and we are excited to go back and see the church that they will be planting as an extension to the one they are in right now. Carson did great on the drive there and back again. We LOVE the DVD player!!! He learned what kitties say on the trip as well. When you ask him what a kittie says, he wrinkles his nose and makes a hissing sound. Troy and Cherie's cats don't really care for anyone other than them. They hiss at everyone else. Carson picked up on that and now hisses like a cat! :o) It's very cute!

Wisconsin Dells November 07

Carson and I went to Wisconsin Dells the first weekend in November. We met up with my mom(Grandma)and Auntie Jess and Jack and Isabella. We had so much fun at the water parks. Carson was a little unsure at first, but soon loved the water. Jack loved every minute of it. I think he might be part fish! :o)

1st Plane Ride!

Saturday, we took Carson for his first plane ride!! Well, actually, he has been on 2 airline jets, but this was the first time being in a plane that Daddy was flying!! He loved it and wanted to touch everything. He was very intrigued by Caleb's headset. When we landed, we got out and I put him down and he ran back to the plane. We let him play inside for a little while and when it was time to go, he started crying. :o( He definitely is a boy after his daddy's heart. Both Caleb and I got a little teary that he liked it so much. Caleb can hardly wait to start teaching him how to fly! :o)

Apple Orchard

Saturday Caleb and I took Carson to Apple Hollar. We had fun walking through a corn maze and walking through Jack and the Bean Stalk (a maze through the apple trees with large story figures). Carson loved it when the apple tree branches touched him. He would just start to giggle. :o) We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the warm weather(70 degrees).

Carson has been driving his cars and trucks around the house making vroom, vroom noises...it's very cute. He also is into throwing balls around-inside the house. Good thing we don't have breakables. :o) One last fun thing he's doing...taking his DVD's out of the DVD player. Yikes! What's a mother to do?!

Lake Michigan

On Thursday we took Carson to Lake Michigan one last time before it gets cold. He loved playing in the sand and water. The water was very chilly but he didn't seem to mind it. The weather was warm and sunny, so we had to take advantage of it!! :o)

Not Walking!!

Well, Carson has decided that crawling is a lot faster than walking. If he would keep walking, he would soon find out that walking is faster, but until then...crawling it is! Oh well. Soon enougg he'll be running all over the house and I'll wish that he were crawling again!!! :o)

First Steps!!

Congratulations Carson!! He took his first steps today! I changed his diaper and set him down hoping that he would just stand there(since he hasn't wanted to even do that on his own). Well, he decided to just take off and walk. He took about 6 steps with ease and then realized that he wasn't holding on to anything. Of course he dropped to the floor quickly. I was so excited, but Caleb was on the phone in the kitchen and missed it. So I brought Carson into the kitchen and tried putting him down again to see if he would walk to Caleb. Again, he walked to Caleb like he's been walking for a long time. He just needs to gain some courage and he'll be on the go all the time. We tried it again with the video going and of course, he wouldn't do it. I'm going to try again tomorrow morning. I'll post the clip as soon as Carson cooperates. :o)

Stitches!!!

Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while. I'm mending after having 3 stitches put into my left middle finger. Friday night I was getting the seed out of an avocado(not the safe way) and the knife slipped off the seed and sliced through my middle finger. It never hurt, but since I could see the tendons inside I knew it needed stitches. Caleb wasn't home, so I wrapped my finger with lots of gauze and taped it up. I loaded Carson into the car and headed to urgent care. When I got there, they took the gauze off and it still wasn't hurting! I'm not sure if I was in shock or if God was just blocking the pain since I was alone with Carson. Anyway, 3 stitches and a tetanus shot later, I was on my way home. Not the way I wanted to spend my Friday night. Oh well. Since then, I have been having trouble typing. Today, it feels quite a bit better though. I definitely will be more careful with knives from now on!! :o)

New Vehicle

Well, this weekend we put Caleb's car up for sale on Craigslist and it sold right away. SO... we went car shopping on Saturday. We have been looking for a while, but weren't set on anything. However, we found a Chrysler Pacifica that was right in our price range. I'm not ready for a minivan yet, so this was a nice alternative. We have lots more space and it rides very nice too. I'll post pictures soon. It was a busy weekend!!!

Yesterday, we got to meet Caleb's youngest Cousins. Scott and Jaycee. They are adorable. Carson was very nice to them. :O) Caleb's Uncle and Aunt are here in the States until November. They are missionary doctors in Tanzania. They just recently had twin boys (3 1/2 months ago). It was nice to visit with them.

Church Nurseries

For those of you who don't know, I'm the ministry director of the nurseries at Brookside Baptist Church where we attend. I have recently been working on making changes to each of them. I stenciled all 3 nurseries. Wow, that was a job. I had help from Caleb in one of them and help from a friend for another. The last one I did myself. They look great (I think). I've also been working on making them a little more organized (which I love) :O) It's nice to have something to do since I'm not working anywhere. This has allowed me to have a job (so to speak) that I can bring Carson along to. He loves playing in the nurseries. I'll work on adding some pictures of the finished product tonight.

Today was Caleb's 27th birthday. He got home from being gone since Sunday night this afternoon. However, he ended up sick. I think he has a flu bug or something. :o( Not fun especially on his birthday. Hopefully he will feel better soon.

Well, it's just Carson and me for a few days. Caleb's in Texas and has to wait until his job finds him a trip coming back up this direction. So, we may see him as early as tonight and as late as Friday or Saturday. Hopefully he won't have to be gone that long though. One plus is that he gets paid extra for being gone on the road. That's always nice, especially when you have a car that needs replacing. :o) In the meantime, Carson and me are having fun. We are going to make a trip to the park to go swing and maybe take a dip in the wading pool!

Sometimes he can be a real stinker without even knowing it! I had been looking for my phone everywhere all morning. My biggest concern was that Carson had been seen with it last. Yikes! That called for checking unusual places. So this morning after Caleb left, I began my search(4:50am). I started by checking the couches - under and in the cushions. Next I searched toy bins all over the house. Still no cell phone. To make matters worse, we don't have a land line so I had no way of calling it either. Anyway, my search included the laundry chute, refrigerator, our room, the bathroom, Carson's room(very quietly since he was still sleeping), all over in the living room and finally the garbage - in the house and the bag out in the can at the end of the driveway!!!! People probably thought I was homeless, digging through the garbage. At the end of all of that, I still couldn't find the thing. Then I thought to pray! Maybe if I had done that first, I would've saved myself from having to dig in the garbage?? By this time it was 6:30am and I was really tired so I went back to bed until 8:30 (Carson slept that long, hurray!). Well, while I was in bed it occurred to me that it might be in a bag in his closet. I had been putting clothes away yesterday and Carson was in there with me. I had already checked a few places in his closet but I thought I may as well check again. I ended up finding it in the bin that I keep his hats in. Thank you, Lord!! Anyway, Carson is very happy to see it again. I will definitely keep an eye on where he goes with it from now on. You can just see the stinker twinkle on his face!!!!:o)

Well, the car is now back up and running. We're not sure for how long, but at least we've had some time to come up with a plan in case it really does die the next time(yes, there will be a next time). Thanks for praying!

Car Trouble

Today, Caleb went to come home and his car died shortly after leaving the parking lot. He tried to start it again and it started and ran for only a few seconds then died again. Anyway, we're not sure what the problem is. Caleb is going to talk to the mechanic at his job and see if he might know what to do. However, if any of you are familiar with Caleb's car, you would know that it has 260,000 miles on it and is pretty much on its last leg. Well, we're not sure if it will be up and running anymore. We had planned on getting a new(used, but new to us) vehicle this fall, but we may have to scratch that plan and get one earlier. Please pray that we can figure out what's wrong with the car so that we can have a few more months of saving money. If not, pray that God would provide the money a little early. :o)

Carson's WI Birthday Party

Today was Carson's Wisconsin party. It was nice this morning, so we decided to go with the plan to have it at the park up the street from our house. Well, by the time we got everything set up and the grill going, it started to rain. Yep! So we all ate fast and had some cake and called it a day. Some of our family came back to the house and watched Carson open his gifts. Overall, it was not the best party, but we still managed to have fun. :o) Carson enjoyed the Jello airplane that I put on top of his cake. Yum! He got some cool gifts too. He got a toy cell phone, Lightening McQueen car, toy helicopter, sleepers, rumble truck, and money.

Well, today Carson had his 1 year doctor appointment. The doctor said that he's doing great. He is 23 1/2 lbs. and 32" long. He grew 2" in one month! He also was given a shot, but didn't even cry. What a man! :o)

Today is Carson's birthday! He's one year old. Wow, it's amazing how fast he's grown. He is close to walking now and enjoys pushing his new tonka truck around the house! :o)
